GREAT FALLS
A woman accused of leaving her two children in the back seat of a parked car for more than an hour early Tuesday has been charged with two counts of felony criminal endangerment. Maria Jarvey, 24, turned herself in to police Tuesday morning, Great Falls Police Sgt. Glen Stinar said. A caller reported the situation at about 1 a.m. Tuesday. Officers found the two girls, ages 3 and 4, visibly shaking from the cold, Stinar said. It was about 34 degrees outside at the time. Police, who couldn't find Jarvey near the car, turned the girls over to the Montana Department of Family Services. The girls were handed over to a member of Jarvey's family after Jarvey turned herself in, Stinar said. She was being held Tuesday night at the Cascade County jail on $20,000 bond, said Sgt. Jason Cichosz of the Cascade County Sheriff's Office. It was unclear if Jarvey had an attorney. Information from: Great Falls Tribune, http://www.greatfallstribune. com. (AP)
