JACQUELINE JEAN “JACKIE” TAYLOR COOK obituary

Jackie Cook, beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, died April 12, 2008.

She was known for her love of life, her sense of humor and indomitable spirit. Jackie Cook (Jacqueline Jean Taylor Cook) was born Oct. 16, 1924, in Alexander, N.D., the daughter of Olive and Frank Taylor. She attended Charboneau, N.D., grade school and moved with her family to Fairview in 1937, where she graduated from Fairview High School. On Oct. 30, 1943, Jackie married Ralph Cook and they farmed in the Fairview area. Jackie and Ralph had two children, Dennis Cook and Sandra Cook Merwin. The family moved to Havre in 1956. Jackie and Ralph worked together as partners in Cook’s Campers located west of Havre. Ralph died in 1989. Jackie remained in Havre until 2000 and was a loyal member of the Van Orsdel Methodist Church for 44 years. She spent her last eight years enjoying life in Billings. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Cook Merwin and Andrew Merwin of Billings; her son and daughterin- law, Dennis Ralph Cook and Jami Hunter Cook of Minneapolis; her sister Jeannette R. Thomas; her brother Frank Taylor; two grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers. Memorial services to celebrate her life were held at Hope Methodist Church on April 14.
