Paula Marie Vaughn, 56, died Thursday morning at her residence in Havre from cancer.
Paula Marie Vaughn, 56, died Thursday morning at her residence in Havre from cancer. Her prayer vigil service will be held 7 p.m., Monday, May 26, 2008, with her funeral mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Havre. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the St. Jude Parish Center immediately after the services at the graveside. Memorial contributions in Paula’s honor may be made to St. Jude Thaddeus School, P.O. Box 407, Havre, MT 59501. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Paula was born May 8, 1952, in Havre to William and Kathleen (Thompson) Stewart. She was raised and educated in Havre attending St. Jude Thaddeus School and graduating from Havre High School in 1970. She attended Northern Montana College and graduated with her associates degree in Nursing in
1973. She married Charles Vaughn November 24, 1971, and the couple resided in Havre and raised their four children. Paula was a very active person who gave her compassion and talent to every organization of which she was a member. She had a giving heart and it showed in everything that she did. Whether it was being a daughter, sister, wife, mother, business operator or grandmother she did everything to the best of her ability and poured her heart and soul into every activity. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, she was instrumental in the cinnamon roll sale for the Wheat Festival and she worked for many fundraising ventures and was involved in anything that helped St. Jude School. If you needed anything done you just called Paula. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters, PCCW and the Prayer Shawl Knitting Club. She was also very active in 4-H as the leader of Blue Horizon and Tumbleweed clubs. In Paula’s own words she liked to work and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was always sewing pajamas, dresses, or new clothes for the kids or knitting booties and making baby towels for all the new arrivals into the family. She was preceded in death by her father, William Stewart; her mother-in-law, Loretta Vaughn; and her special grandmother, Marie Vander Ven. Paula is survived by her husband of 37 years Charles “Chuck” Vaughn of Havre; her children, Amy (Steve) Peterson of Billings, Jim (Shannon) Vaughn of Havre, Jennifer (Lucas) Kuhr of Billings, and Evan Vaughn of Havre; her grandchildren whom she loved very much, Tyler, Owen, Noah, Ryan, Ariel, Lauren and Kaylee; her brothers, Mark (Madeline) Stewart of Havre, Willy (Colleen) Stewart of Great Falls, Butch (Joni) Stewart of Cut Bank, Oscar (Ruby) Stewart of Havre, and Joe (Debbie) Stewart of Havre; her two sisters, Kelly (Phil) Toldness of Havre and Rebecca Stewart of Seattle, Wash.; sisters- and brothers-inlaw, Helen (Gary) Heilig of Moore, Janice (Glen) Whaley of Havre, William (Karla) Vaughn of Havre, Margaret Hanson of Choteau, Karen (Larry) Olson of Havre, and John Vaughn of Williston, N.D. RAY R. FINCH, obituary ROCKFORD, Ill. Ray R. Finch passed away peacefully early Monday, May 19 at P.A. Peterson Center for Health in Rockford. Ray was born on May 2, 1925, in Chinook to Clarence and Bertha (Mang) Finch. He married Emma Lou Deininger on July 27, 1947, in Great Falls. Ray served in the Army Air Corp in WWII. He had years of membership in Moose, Odd Fellows and Elks clubs. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 60 years, Emma Lou Finch and his son, Gregory (Judy) Finch of Rockford. Ray is also survived by his three brothers, Frank (Clairinda) Finch, Alfred Finch, William Finch; and sister, Martha (John) Bonebright. Ray leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by his parents and sons, Eugene and Dennis.
