John S. McIntosh, 84, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at his residence north of Havre from pancreatic cancer.
His memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor John Bruington officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held immediately after the service at the church. Memorial contributions in John’s honor may be made to Bear Paw Hospice, C/O NMH,

Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. John was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Havre to Alex and Ella (Starkey) McIntosh. He was raised north of Havre on the family farm and attended the North Country School. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1944 serving in World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. After the war he returned to Havre and farmed with his family. He married Jean Olsen in July 21, 1954, at the First Presbyterian Church in Havre. To this union four children were born: Roger, Gayle, Chuck and Mike. John was a fun-loving person who enjoyed his family and friends. His greatest enjoyment came from his grandchildren. He liked to hunt and fish in his spare time and enjoyed a good game of cards. Whenever John came to town he would always stop by P.J.’s to play a game of P’s dice. John was an excellent farmer and rancher who enjoyed his cows. He also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and WWF Wrestling on his satellite. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Roger McIntosh, two brothers Bob and Jimmy McIntosh and his sister Martha Smith. John is survived by his daughter, Gayle (Dennis) Keller of Havre; two sons, Chuck (Jamie) McIntosh and Mike McIntosh, both of Havre; brothers, Roderick McIntosh of Pensacola, Fla., and Stuart (Carol) McIntosh of Havre; sisters, Albertine Bosworth of Havre and Gladys Huelett of Havre; grandchildren, A.J. (Lorrie) Keller of Havre, Rusty (Leslie) Keller of Seattle; Brandelle McIntosh of Seattle; Crystal (Brian Crane) McIntosh of Las Vegas; Sommer (James Lowry) McIntosh of Las Vegas, and Ashley Tilleman of Missoula; and great-grandchildren, Nikolas and Jakob Keller of Havre, Wyatt Lowry of Las Vegas, and Tim and Selena Keller of Seattle.
