Matilda Irene “Tillie” McIntyre, 93, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.
Her memorial service will be 2p. m. Thursday, May 29, 2008, at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brad Ulgenes officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Tillie’s honor may be made to Northern Montana Care Center or to a memorial of one’s choice. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Tillie was born Dec. 31, 1914, in Erhard, Minn., to Charles K. and Mary (Berger) Anderson. She moved with her parents to Montana in 1917 when she was 2 years old. They lived in Zurich and then moved to Havre in 1918. She attended Cypress School north of Havre and then Havre Public Schools. She graduated from the Chinook College of Beauty Culture. On Nov. 21, 1932, Tillie married Vern W. McIntyre in Chinook. Tillie was a beautician for many years, owning and operating her beauty shops in Chinook and Havre. Tillie enjoyed knitting, word puzzles, sewing, various arts and crafts and both she and Vern enjoyed bowling and fly fishing. They didn’t have any children, however they enjoyed their families and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vern, in 1998; brother, Palmer Anderson; and three sisters, Clara Neal, Aggie Clark, and Kay Curtis. Tillie is survived by her two sisters, Gladys Converse and Dorthy Christianson, both of Tacoma, Wash.; niece. Evon (Carson) Corrigan of Havre; nephew, Leslie (Bernie) Anderson of Havre; and several nieces and nephews in Montana, Washington and Oregon
