Mary Ann (Bolta) McCain, 85, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Presbyterian Hospice House in Whittier on June 1, 2008.
Mary Ann was born March 7, 1923, in Havre. She graduated from Havre High School, and later worked as a riveter building B-52 bombers in Seattle during World War II where she met Lawrence McCain. They were married in Ventura, Calif., in March of 1946, and lived in Whittier since 1956. They celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on March 30, 2006. She worked for the school cafeteria, but most importantly as a homemaker to her family. Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Pam Reithmeier; son, Larry McCain Jr.; sisters, Ann McClain, Keva Symes, and Elena Clontz; a brother, George Bolta; five grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, and her son, Michael. There will be a viewing and Rosary at White-Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St. in Whittier, Thursday, June 5. The viewing begins at 6 p.m. followed by Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 6, at St. Bruno’s Catholic Church in Whittier, at 9 a. m., with interment following at Olive Lawn Memorial Park in La Mirada, Calif.
