JIM G. TURNER obituary

Jim G. Turner, 75, died Thursday morning in Great Falls, due to complications from surgery.

Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held. Memorial contributions in Jim’s honor may be made to a memorial of one’s choice. Service and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Jim was born September 21, 1932, in Havre to David W. and Alvina (Cibulski) Turner. He was raised and educated in Washington and Havre. He married Julie Morelli October 18, 1952, in Havre. The couple made their home in Havre and raised two sons Ron and Larry. Jim went to work for the Great Northern Railroad in 1952 and worked as a conductor until he retired in 1991. Jim was a skilled craftsman. He completed many home improvement projects that exceeded the quality of professionals. He also created many beautiful items out of wood that he gave to his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed listening to music. Jim enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening with his wife. He and Julie always maintained a beautiful yard. They also worked as AARP tax aides at the North Central Senior Citizens Center every year at tax time. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Julie in 2007; five brothers; and one sister. Jim is survived by his two sons, Ron (Cindy) Turner of Havre and Larry Turner of Puyallup, Wash.; two grandchildren, Nicholas Turner and Severina Turner, both of Havre; and many nieces and nephews.
