Mary C. Godlevsky, 94, died Wednesday Oct. 1, 2008, at the Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest at the Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home in Havre. Mary was born December 24, 1913, in Dunn County, N. D., to John and Christina (Karlick) Trinka. She attended country schools in North Dakota and worked on the family farm. In February 1930, Mary married Emil Godlevsky in Dickenson, N. D. To this union two daughters were born. In 1958, the family moved to Livingston to be close to family. Mary worked at Martin’s Caf as the assistant cook and baker for 18 years. In 1999, Mary moved to Havre due to her health and to be near her daughter. In April of 2000 she moved to the Northern Montana Care Center. Mary enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, being outdoors and gardening, especially her fruits and vegtables. She also enjoyed bingo and playing cards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Godlevsky; her daughter Elsie (Charles) Perry in 1987; five brothers, Frank, Joe, Albert, Tony and Charlie Trinka; and three sisters, Barbara, Rose and Christine. Mary is survived by her daughter Doris (Edward) Hanel of Havre; her sister, Hattie Dvorak of Dickinson; four grandchildren, Marlene Lambert, Diane Iverson, Charles Perry Jr. And Debby Dickson; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
