Baucus in Havre on health care

Montana’s senior U. S. Senator Max Baucus will hold a listening session in Havre on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Northern Montana Hospital, Conference Room 3 to discuss health care challenges facing Montanans as he works on reforming the health care system for the country. As chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, Baucus is leading the charge on health care reform. To date, Baucus has held 11 Finance Committee hearings to examine the different areas of health care reform. He also held a heal th care summi t i n Washington, D.C., with senior members from the Senate and House and national health care leaders. One of Baucus’ top priorities next year is to overhaul the nation’s health care system. Baucus wants to ensure that all Montanans and Americans have access to quality, affordable health care. Panelists will include Northern Montana Hospital CEO David Henry; Dr. Joseph Marino, director of the Integrated Provider Divi s ion at Nor thern Montana Hospital; Barbara Stiffarm, development director of Opportunity Link; Wayne and Ginger Chagnon, Havre residents; and Evelyn Havskjold, director of the Area Agency on Aging and Montanans. Baucus’ listening sessions will be an open forum where Montanans can offer what health care concerns they have and how the health care system could work better for them. The listening session is free and open to the public.
