Marie Friede, 76, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at her home in Box Elder due to natural causes.
A wake service began Monday, Oct. 27, with her rosary today at 7 p. m. and her funeral service at 9 a.m. Wednesday, all at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with Father Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial will follow at the Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook. Marie was born April 20, 1932, in Rocky Boy to William and Roseann (Briere) Saddler. She was raised and educated in Rocky Boy and Chinook, Mont. Marie married Ernest D. Friede in 1951 and together they raised eight children. Marie worked as a self employed store owner along side her husband Ernest for thirty-two years. Along with raising eight children when Ernest worked various jobs. Marie enjoyed cooking for family gatherings on holidays, camping, fishing and visiting with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Flora Saddler; daughter, Peggy Lee Friede; and great grandson, Cruz Michael Friede. Marie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ernest D. Friede; her daughters, Cindy Lawrence; Ernestine (Chuck) Rosette, Alvina (Buzz) Friede and Tricia (Dennis) Gardipee; her sons, Harvey (Barb) Friede, Daniel (Darla) Friede and Howard Friede all of Box Elder; brother, Joseph Saddler of Washington; adopted daughters, Maria Walters Saddler of Havre and Becky Brisbo of Harlem, Mont.; 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; she is also survived by three special friends, Linda Nault, Cecelia Evanson and Mona Henderson. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
