Dorothy M. Siemens, 86, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at the Ponderosa Pines Care Home in Billings.
Cremation has taken place and her memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home in Havre with Jack Siemens officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the Eagles immediately after the services. Private interment will be held at a later time. Memorials in Dorothy’s honor may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Dorothy was born Sept. 22, 1922 in Stockett. She was raised by the Bubnash family and attended country school at the Hay Coulee School. In 1941 she married Peter Siemens in Shelby. Together they made their home south of Inverness where they farmed. They purchased a ranch on the Marias River in 1947 where they made their home and raised their children. Her husband Peter died in 1983. Dorothy operated the ranch until 1999 when she sold and moved to the assisted living center in Chester. Dorothy then moved to Butte and lived there for about a year. Then her son Charles moved her to Billings where she lived at Ella’s Assisted Living Center so she could be near him. Dorothy enjoyed music, she played the guitar and piano. She was a wonderful seamstress and liked to sew. Dorothy and Peter played pinochle with their friends and neighbors which they enjoyed for many years. Dorothy was a great cook and liked to entertain her family and friends on Sundays for dinner at the ranch. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Peter Siemens in 1983; son James Siemens in 1967; and one brother, George O’Layear. Dorothy is survived by her son Charles (Goldie) P. Siemens of Billings; two granddaughters: Candi (Mike) Howard of Great Falls. And Michelle Shaw of Butte.; two grandsons: Charlie P. (Robin) Siemens Jr. Of Great Falls. And Patrick Goldhan of Shelby, Mont.; and nine great grandchildren.
