Richard M. Tow, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at the Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.
His funeral service will be 11 . m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at the Van Orsdel United Methodist Church of Havre with Pastor Richard Rice officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Richard’s honor may be made to Benefis Health Care for The Heart Tower, P.O. Box 7008, Great Falls, MT 59406- 008. Richard was born June 17, 1929, at Laredo, Mont., to Wilfrid and Margaret Tow. He was raised and educated at the country school in Laredo and attended Havre High School. He enlisted in the Army for two years. After the war, Richard returned to Montana and farmed and ranched in the Zurich area. He worked for the Blaine County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator and also for the Hill County Road Department. On August 12, 1961, he married Lila Mae Sargent in Chinook, Mont. With this union came five step-children: Richard Earl Molyneaux, Cheryl Ellen Molyneaux, Daniel Wayne Molyneaux, Edward Charles Molyneaux and Mary Marlene Molyneaux. Richard loved his family. He particularly enjoyed all family get-togethers, holidays and reunions. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Richard was an avid reader; he especially enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour novels. He enjoyed listening to old country western music. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfrid and Margaret Tow; his wife, Lila Tow; and three step-children: Richard Earl, Danny and Eddie Molyneaux. Richard is survived by his daughters: Cheryl Molyneaux of Helena, Mont. And Marlene Hensley of Havre, Mont.; four sisters: Agnes Cook of Havre, Mont.; Lillian (Cecil) Daley of Ridgecrest, Calif.; twin sister, Rachel (Jim) Mikkelsen of Hobson, Mont.; and Alice (Max) Conner of Havre, Mont.; two brothers: Raymond (Carrie) Tow of Rigby, Idaho; Charles (Monie) Tow of Glasgow, Mont.; 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre.
