ROBERT F. HINKLE obituary

Robert F. Hinkle, 88, a ranch hand and truck driver, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at the Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place and his graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at the Highland Cemetery with Pastor Tim Zerger officiating. Military graveside honors will be held. A fellowship luncheon will be at the V.F.W. immediately after the services at the graveside. Services were entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Robert was born June 6, 1920 at Miller, S. D., to Earl and Mary (Lambott) Hinkle. Robert lived in South Dakota and attended school in California. Robert enlisted into the U.S. Army Air Force in 1941 and was honorably discharged in 1945 as a private first class. He moved to Montana and lived in many areas of the Hi-Line and farmed at Fresno. He worked briefly for the Great Northern Railroad. Robert was a country man who enjoyed ranching and especially breaking horses. He had a great talent when it came to working with animals. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, George, William, Jack and Joseph Hinkle; his sisters Faye Taurman and Barbara Staggs; one daughter, Barbara Grey; a stepson, Marcus G. Hinkle; and a grandson, Dennis R. Hinkle Jr. Robert is survived by his sister, Laura (Sis) Hinkle of Great Falls, Mont.; stepsons, Dennis R. (Linda) Hinkle and William J. (Debbie) Hinkle, all of Havre, Mon.; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
