Rock “Rocky” Harold Ailport, age 53, of Pablo, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, from natural causes.
He was born July 12, 1955, in Missoula, Mont., to Arthur H. and Paula Sutherland Ailport. Rocky worked as a logger and as a driller on drilling rigs in Montana and other states. He enjoyed the outdoors and the activities that it provided to him, living in Montana and Idaho. Hunting up Arkansas Creek in the Potomac Valley and steelhead fishing in Idaho were a couple of his great loves. Rocky also served his country in the Marine Corps. He married Kimberly Sheets on Jan. 31, 1985, and they were later divorced, and from this marriage came two wonderful sons, Joshua Rock Ailport and Justin Martin Ailport, whom he spent time hunting and fishing with. His parents, Art and Paula Ailport; his grandma and grandpa, Ailport and grandma and grandpa, Sutherland; and an aunt, Sharon Ailport preceded him in death. He is surivived by his sons, Joshua and Justin Ailport, and by Kimberly Sheets, all of Drummond; brothers, Ricky (Kaye) of Miles City, Mont., Paul (Delphina) of Polson and Shane (Jill) of Glenrock, Wyo.; along with aunts, uncles and numerous nieces and nephews. Rocky enjoyed coming to the Express Auto Car lot and working with his brother Paul. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at 4 p.m. in the Clinton Community Church in Clinton, Mont., with Pastor Rick Robinson officiating. Military honors will be held at the church following the service. A reception will follow services at the church. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements and cremation are under the care of Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory.
