Jacqueline J. Hanson, 78, passed away March 15, 2009, at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre due to natural causes.
The family will be honoring her request with no memorial services. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Jacqueline was born on March 8, 1931, in Mora, Minn., to Alvin and Betty (Wolfe) Altman. She graduated from Havre High School in 1950 and married Delmar Hanson on Nov. 25, 1950, in Havre. Jacqueline attended Northern Montana College and received an associate degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Havre Deaconess Hospital, Sweet Memorial Nursing Home, Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, and at the Hill County Nurse Department. After retiring she would do blood pressure testing at the North Central Senior Citizens Center. Jacqueline was a lifetime member and past president of the Montana Nurse Association. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, gardening, bird watching and her family. Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Delmar Hanson of Havre; son Michael E. Hanson and grandchildren Amy Hanson of Missoula and Michael Hanson of Kalispell; son Arlen (Nancy) Hanson of Hamilton; grandchild Kari (Tobias) Stack and great-grandchildren Ethan and Ella Stack, all of Hamilton; daughter Wanda Hanson of Havre; daughter Renee (Kevin) Fitzgerald and grandson Patrick Fitzgerald, all of Oak Ridge, N.J.; brothers Richard Altman of Havre and Robert Altman of Mott, N.D.; and sister Dolly Lewis of Tucson, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Helen Altman, and brothers Frank and Gary Altman.
