EDWARD J. “ED” MAYES obituary

Edward J. “Ed” Mayes, 77, a retired Joplin farmer who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and reading and was a 50-year member of the Masons, died of natural causes Thursday, March 12, 2009, at the Chester nursing home.

Masonic Rites were held 2:30 p. m. Sunday, March 15, 2009, at the Rockman Funeral Chapel in Chester. Burial followed at the Joplin Cemetery. Ed is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cleo Mayes of Joplin; his daughter, Bette (Cory) Pierson of Havre; his granddaughter, Savanna Pierson of Havre; and brother, Everette Mayes of North Carolina.
