Kathryn Mary Daniel, 100, died Wednesday March 18, 2009, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place and her memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday March 21, 2009, at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. Her burial will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Mich. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the Havre Senior Center immediately after the service. Memorial contributions in Kathryn’s honor may be made to the Havre Senior Center, 2 W. 2nd St., Havre, MT 59501. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Kathryn was born Nov. 22, 1908, in South Range, Mich., to Stephen and Catherine (Peklenk) Malko. She was raised in South Range, Mich., and educated in Painesdale, Mich.. She married Frank Trimper in Detroit, Mich., and they had four children. Widowed at the age of 41, Kathryn moved to Havre in 1957. Her mother, Catherine Carolino, was also a longtime Havre resident. Kathryn worked at Buttreys and later as a kitchen assistant at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was an avid pool player, playing for fun, but winning many a trophy up and down the Hi-Line. Walking was her greatest form of exercise. Although she drove for many years, she would much rather walk. She started her day at St. Jude’s and never failed to lend a hand at church suppers and gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank Trimper; her grandson, Robert Gosselin; her sisters, Mary Heidemann and Christine Nicholson; and her son, David Trimper. Kathryn is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Gosselin of Trenton, Mich., and Gretchen Shreve of Gainesville, Va., and her son, Frank Trimper of Richmond, Va. She also is survived by grandchildren, Ed, Gary, Gail and Gerald Gosselin and Steve and David Shreve.
