Frances Marie (Heck) Wendland, 98, a Rudyard area farmwife who enjoyed reading, sewing, square-dancing and playing cards, died of natural causes on Monday, June 22, 2009, at the Liberty Medical Center in Chester.
A vigil prayer service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Inverness. The funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Following burial at Inverness Cemetery, a reception will be held. Arrangements are by Rockman Funeral Chapel of Chester. Survivors are three sons, C. Dale Wendland of Rudyard, Bill Wendland of Dickinson, N.D., and Rex Wendland of Mission Viejo, Calif.; one daughter, Sue Moss of Conrad; 10 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Clarence Wendland, in 2000.
