Thomas Duane Meddings Jr., 53, died Jan. 11, 2009, at his home.
The family has decided not to release the cause of death. His memorial service will be 11 a. m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church with Pastor Rowlie Hutton officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the church immediately after the service. A private family burial will be held at the Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Thomas’ honor may be made to The Bridge Youth Center c/o Fifth Avenue Christian Church, P. O. Box 1328, Havre, MT 59501. Thomas was born March 11, 1955, in Havre, Mont. To Thomas D. and Jennie (Wingard) Meddings Sr. He was raised and educated in Havre. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He returned to Havre, where Thomas worked for Anderson Wholesale as a truck driver and various construction jobs. He then attended Northern Montana College and graduated with his nursing degree. He married Erika Anderson in Glacier National Park in 1987 the couple later divorced. Thomas moved to Sidney, Mont., where he was employed as a nurse at the Sidney Health Center for eighteen years. Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He also enjoyed helping people; he was a very compassionate person. Thomas is survived by his parents, Thomas and Jennie Meddings of Havre, Mont.; three brothers: Gregory (Laurie) Meddings of Manhattan, Mont., Robert (Sheila) Meddings of Lead, S.D. and David Meddings of Lead, S. D.
