Theodore B. “Ted” Tempel, 81, a retired north Chester farmer who served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II, died of natural causes on Tuesday at the Chester Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11 a. m. Friday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Joplin. Following burial at the Joplin Cemetery, a memorial luncheon will be held at the church. Arrangements are by Rockman Funeral Chapel of Chester. Ted is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elvina (Cady) Tempel of Joplin; daughter, Renee (Mark) Evans of Joplin; sons, Ed Tempel of Fremont, Calif., and Greg (Trish) Tempel of Joplin; brothers, Ed of Chester, John of Chester, Bill of Colfax, Wash., and Ben of Kalispell; one sister, Mary Gormley of Choteau; 11 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Daniel, daughter-in-law Denise, brother Bert, and sister Helen Hodges.
