Nicholas Pete Maroudas, 83, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at the Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place and his memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday Jan. 18, 2009, at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. A fellowship luncheon will follow at the St. Jude Parish Center. Memorials in Nicholas’ honor may be made to any Greek Orthodox Church of your choice. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Nicholas was born March 16, 1925, in Zakynthos, Greece, to Pete and Bitholka Maroudas. He was raised and educated in Greece. Nicholas immigrated to the United States of America in 1955. He married Georgia Golomati in Minneapolis, Minn., on Aug. 24, 1958. The couple moved to Havre, Mont., in 1958 where they made their home. Nick was a loving husband and father who enjoyed life and people. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed a good joke and teasing people. His hobbies included hunting, gardening and working on his vehicles. He was a member of the Eagles and Ahapa club. Nick retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad and Safeway Grocery after 28 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his four brothers and two sisters. Nicholas is survived by his wife, Georgia Maroudas, of Havre, Mont.; his son, Antonio Maroudas, of Vancouver, Wash.; daughters: Maria and Mike Spinler of Havre, Mont.; Peggy and Kevin Fialkosky of Havre, Mont.; Jan Siderakis of Havre, Mont.; his only living brother, Spiros Maroudas, of Zakynthos, Greece; and 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
