Frieda Else Finke, 91, of Big Sandy, passed away quietly in her s l e e p , F r i d a y March 27, 2009, at the Big Sandy M e d i c a l Center.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the C h r i s t Lu t h e ra n Church, 11 a. m., Saturday, April 18, 2009. Interment of the cremated remains will follow at the Big Sandy Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the church immediately after the services at the graveside. Memorials in Frieda’s honor may be made to the Big Sandy Medical Center or the Christ Lutheran Church. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Frieda was born March 4, 1918, in Halle, Germany, to Albert and Anna Weil. She moved to Montana in 1953. She married William Finke May 25, 1954, in Havre, Mont., and together they worked on their farm 17 miles from Big Sandy until William passed away in 1974. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, cooking and playing cards. She was a member of the Big Sandy Lutheran Church, the Big Sandy Senior Center and the Rebeka’s. Frieda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dieter and Sue Galle of Havre; her granddaughters, Suedee (Mark) Grissom of Orlando, Fla., Jennifer (Mike) Herlevi of Watsonville, Calif., and Janet (Tom) Wiest of Peru; and eight great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff at the Big Sandy Medical Center Rest Home for the wonderful care they provided Frieda over the last two years.
