A water main break occurred on Boulevard Avenue early this morning, which flooded the southwest corner of Highland Park Early Primary School’s playground. Principal Maureen Odegard said the school directed students to be dropped off at the east entrance due to the break. Odegard said she had received a call about the water main break at about 7 a.m., and Public Works Director David Peterson said that his crew was notified at about that time as well. Odegard said the flooded area of the playground was barricaded so that students could still play on the other end of the playground. She added that students will be picked up on Washington Avenue near the east entrance of the school while the city works on the water break. Peterson said the repair of the break began this morning, after NorthWestern Energy checked on gas and electric lines and Qwest checked for cable and telephone lines.
