An airman based at Malmstrom Air Force Base was charged Monday with deliberate homicide after a 3-year-old girl died from severe brain injuries.  Cascade County Attorney John Parker said Kaelyn Bray was pronounced dead Monday afternoon, and prosecutors amended the charge against 22-year-old Jerimie Hicks.  Before the girl died, Hicks was charged with attempted deliberate homicide, and District Judge Dirk Sandefur had set bail at $750,000.  Parker said the girl, the daughter of Hicks' girlfriend, suffered the brain injuries Friday while Hicks was the sole person in charge of her care.  Hicks was arrested Saturday and asked for a public defender.  According to court documents, Hicks said Kaelyn was injured when a puppy knocked her down some stairs.  But police soon became suspicious because the dog was fine and the stairs were covered in plush carpet.  Police say Hicks later told them he pushed Kaelyn against the wall because he was frustrated with the fussing toddler after feeding her.  "The evidence indicates he spent a substantial amount of time trying to mask his account, rather than call for medical help," Parker said Monday.  "He has a clear disregard for human life."  Hicks has been in the military for four years, the last three stationed in Great Falls.
