Mary E. Omlie died March 3, 2010, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final days. Mary was born to George and Gladys Wright on May 12, 1929, in Havre, Mont. Mary attended Havre schools and graduated from Havre High School. She was very active in Glee Club, Annual staff and the school newspaper (Stampede) staff. Mary loved music and was always a participant in piano and vocal events. She attended Sacred Heart School of Nursing. Mary married James O. Omlie. They raised two daughters and a son in Havre. Mary was active in St. Mark's Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing bridge, watching her children play softball and baseball and traveling to tournaments. She loved working at a local bookstore. Lori, Mary's youngest daughter, was her constant companion, her caregiver and her best friend in her later years. They especially enjoyed the sunshine, going for a drive, listening to music, loving their dog, Tucker, and planting flowers. Mary was a kind and generous person. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was most happy spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jane Oliver. Mary is survived by her son, James W. Omlie of Havre; two daughters, Pamela (Gary) Nimmick and Lori Omlie, both of Havre; her five grandchildren, Tiffany (Tory) Carson, Joshua Nimmick and Trevor Nimmick, all of Havre, Anthony (Trista) Omlie of Des Moines Iowa; and Logan Omlie of Havre; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Carson of Havre, and Lucas and Brooke Omlie both of Des Moines, Iowa; two nieces, Judy Sinclair (LeRoy Wenz), of Havre and Janis (Graeme) Monteith of Calgary, Alberta; one great-nephew Jason (Rebecca) Sinclair of Grand Junction, Colo.; two great-nieces Jocelyn Monteith of Calgary, Alberta, and Johna Beihe of Toronto, Ontario; and one great-great-nephew, Jaxson Oliver Sinclair of Grand Junction, Colo. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, with Pastor Brad Ulgenes presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Havre. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Mark's Episcopal Church or to the memorial of your choice. Services are in the care of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre.
