At 1:42 a.m. today, a motor vehicle crash took out the sign at Stromberg's Sinclair, located at 12th Avenue and 1st Street.
The Havre Police Department report lists Rebecca Boschee, 28, of Chinook, as being charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.
Police department officials were unavailable this morning.
Stromberg's Sinclair co-owner Howard Stromberg said this morning that the vehicle was traveling east on 1st Street and hit the concrete slab holding the 30-foot-high sign, knocking over it and the fire hydrant.
Stromberg said the crash caused between $20,000 to $30,000 in damage.
Havre Fire Department Chief Dave Sheppard said that emergency medical services responded to the scene and transported the driver to Northern Montana Hospital. Boschee was not listed as a patient this morning at Northern Montana Hospital or Benefis Hospital in Great Falls.
