Montana State University-Northern's Tyson Lucier has been named Frontier Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
    In Northern's dramatic 5-=46 loss Saturday at Eastern Oregon University, Lucier blocked one punt and had two tackles on kickoff coverage. Lucier's blocked punt was recovered in the end zone for an MSU-N touchdown.
    Lucier is a 6-1, 200-pound freshman from Superior and a backup wide receiver for the Lights.
    Montana Tech's Matt Komac earned offensive honors for the week. In Montana Tech’s 38-24 win over Rocky Mountain College, Komac was 22-of-24 passing for 322 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 31 yards on eight carries. Komac is a 6-4 senior from Helena. Other players nominated were  Nathan Barnett of Rocky Mountain, Derek Lear of Montana State-Northern, Corey Peterson of Carroll College and Kevin Sampson of Eastern Oregon.
    Carroll College's Thomas Dolan was named defensive player of the week. Dolan, a 6-3, 220-pound senior linebacker from Billings recorded  eight solo tackles, one assisted tackle, one for loss (-2) and one pass breakup in Carroll's 28-2 win over UM-Western .The Carroll defense held Montana Western to 188 yards in total offense and to 29 percent passing. Also nominated, Marc-Avery Airhart of Eastern Oregon, Eric Buer of Rocky Mountain, Marcus Johnson of Montana Tech and Casey Varner of Montana State-Northern.
    In other league news, the second regular season NAIA Top 25 was released Monday and Montana Tech moved up four spots to No. 21. The Orediggers are on a three-game winning streak. Carroll College remained No. 3 behind Sioux Falls and Lindenwood.
