Richard C. Newth Jr., 55, of Great Falls, went to be with our Lord on Sept. 17, 2010 after a courageous battle with colorectal cancer.
Dick was born in Chicago, Ill., and lived in many different parts of the United States during his lifetime.
After receiving his doctorate from Illinois College of Optometry, he began practicing with a large group medical practice, spending 20 years in the Kansas City area.
From 2000 to 2005, he practiced at the Chippewa Cree Health Center on Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation. In 2005 he joined the Great Falls Clinic, caring for his patients until his health would no longer allow him to continue his practice.
Dick demonstrated his faith and love for the Lord by the way he lived his life. He has been set free from this earthly body and is now rejoicing with Jesus.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Tawny, and daughter, Shannon, of Great Falls.
Private visitation and cremation have taken place, handled by O’Connor Funeral Home of Great Falls. A memorial celebration is planned for 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at First Alliance Church in Great Falls.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Alliance Church Benevolent Fund, in honor of Dick Newth, 908 47th St. S., Great Falls, MT 59405 or Illinois College of Optometry, Richard Newth Scholarship Fund, 3241 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60616-9973.
