The fifth-ranked Butte Central Maroons spoiled Havre High's homecoming game with a 42-13 romp Friday night at a sold-out Blue Pony Stadium. The Maroons broke open a 7-0 game in the second quarter by scoring 21 straight points on three possessions to take a 28-0 lead deep into the third quarter.
HHS cut the lead to 28-6 on a Logan Connor touchdown pass from Justin Jensen, but the Maroons answered with yet another TD. Junior Ryan Brandt scored Havre's only other touchdown of the night.
With the loss, HHS fell to 1-1 in the Central A and 3-2 overall. The Ponies are on the road next Friday to take on Browning.
