Rolf Groseth, who served as interim chancellor at Montana State University-Northern for 18 months, is in the running to be chancellor at MSU Billings.
A search committee released the names of the finalists this morning.
Groseth was interim chancellor at Northern from January 2008 to August 2009, when Frank Trocki was named chancellor. Groseth is now the interim chancellor at the Billings campus. Ron Sexton retired in August after 15 years as chancellor at Billings.
Groseth is the vice president for inter-campus affairs at Montana State University in Bozeman. In this capacity, he works to coordinate affairs at MSU's Bozeman, Great Falls, Billings and Havre campuses. Prior to accepting that post in 2004, he was assistant to the president at MSU.
Other finalists are:
• Dr. Sally Johnstone, current provost and vice president for academic affairs at Winona State University, in Winona, Minn.
• Dr. Linda Rinker, current provost and vice president for academic affairs at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Conn.
