The Frontier Conference basketball season is just days away, and the league's coaches have released preseason polls for men's and women's basketball this morning.
On the men's side, the Montana State University-Northern Lights were picked to finish second in 2010-2011. The Lights earned a third-place finish in the league a year ago. The Lights went 9-5 in league play last season and finished 22-10 overall, just missing out on an NAIA national tournament bid.
Defending league champion Westminster received eight of 10 first place votes to top the poll. Rocky Mountain was third and Carroll College was fourth.
On the women's side, the Skylights were slotted to finish sixth. MSU-N went 7-7 in the conference and 16-16 overall a year ago while finishing fifth. Westminster was picked atop the women's poll this season while defending league champion LC State was picked second.
