Scared of how tomorrow will look
Editor:
I am writing in response to Mr. Cal Long's "Trick or Treat" opinion published Tuesday, Oct. 19. I am glad he brought to my attention the age-old Republican scare-tactics that Hansen, Hutton and Warburton are using to get my vote this up-coming November.
I for one am not scared that only 7 percent of the 50 million abortions since 1973 were because of women who were medically in danger or "suffered the indignities of rape or incest" (Allen Guttmach Institute).
I am not scared that the unemployment rate in Montana has been rising steadily for the past four years (U. S. Department of Labor Statics).
I am not scared that the government has been steadily claiming their's what is rightfully ours — our rights, our freedoms and our land.
I am not scared because socialism, tyranny and complete moral disregard does not occur overnight.
It is a slow process that one may not even see coming. You don't wake up one morning and your family's farm is now a wildlife refuge. Even with the rising taxes and restrictions, you will always be able to hunt and defend yourself and your family. And there certainly will never be 46.5 million unanswered abortions simply because of poor decisions, fear or apathy. I know what has happened these past 37 years. And personally, I am a bit scared what tomorrow will look like.
