James Berger
James Berger, 60, passed away at his home in Havre surrounded by family and friends on Oct. 22, 2010, after a short battle with cancer. 
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at 11 a. m. in the First Church of the Nazarene with burial following in Highland Cemetery. Wake services will begin on Monday, Oct. 25, at 6 p. m. in the church. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. 
James was born March 18, 1950, in Havre to Gilbert and Flora (Belgarde) Berger. He attended school in Havre and joined the U. S. Army in 1969. 
While stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, he had a son with Gertrude Engelke in 1971. 
James returned to Havre in 1972 and married Elaine Healy. They renewed their vows in 1994. 
James and Elaine had five children and adopted five children. 
James worked at the Rocky Mountain Packing Company, the oil rigs, and at various other jobs over the years as he was a jack of all trades. 
His hobbies included spending time with his family, camping, fishing, playing cards, singing and playing his guitar. 
Jimmy was a very kind-hearted and giving person who would do anything for anyone. His humor was infectious to everyone around him, and he could always put a smile on your face. He will be missed by his many friends and relatives throughout Indian Country.
James is survived by his adopted mother, Delia Morsette of Rocky Boy; wife, Elaine Healy-Berger of Havre; sons, Thomas Engelke-Berger of Germany and James (Angie) Berger Jr. of Havre; daughters, Arlene (Bart) Cochran of Fort Belknap, Angela (Frank) Welch and Audrey (Arden) Flansburg, all of Havre; adopted son, Joseph “JoJo” (Randi) Corcoran of Havre; adopted daughters, Audrey (Neal) Clayborn of South Havre, Debra (Harvey) Morsette of Rocky Boy, Terri (Shawn) Frey of Chinook, and Karlene Cochran of Hays; sisters Evelyn Cochran and Viola England, both of Havre, Debra Stark of Billings; brothers, Charlie Berger of Canada, Stewart Berger of Washington and Tom Berger of Great Falls; adopted brother Grant Cochran of Fort Belknap; special grandsons Alex Eakins, Harvey Herrig, Taz Cochran, Willie Cochran, Tommy Welch, James Dean Cochran, Mike Morsette, Harvey “Mush” Morsette Jr., Dustin Welch, Mikey Welch and Buck Clayborn; special granddaughters Rosie Welch, Leondra Cochran, Alexis Rose Flansburg, Izzy Olin-Berger, Addy and Allie Haas-Berger, and the Morsette Girls; special nieces Jana Cochran, Alysia Pedraza, Natalie Kato, Shannon Lynch, Annie and Amanda Winchell, Cody St. Marks; special nephew Floyd St. Marks; 27 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Flora Berger; sister Carol St. Marks; baby brother Richard Berger; son, Thomas George Healy-Berger; niece Tina Cochran; grandsons, Leon William Cochran and Taylor James Olin-Berger; and adopted father Bill Morsette.
