The Havre Daily News is working on a story about Chinook's reaction to the Sugarbeeters playing in the state Class C tournament this weekend. We'd like your help. We want to talk to longtime Beeter fans. We'd like to talk to people about their support for the team and what they will be doing Saturday. We'd especially like to hear from Beeter fans who have moved away from the area but are keeping in touch. Drop us a note at news@havredailynews.com with your thoughts or with a number where we can reach you. Thanks.

Kudos to the Chinook Sugarbeeters Football Team! You made it! All of you should be so proud of your accomplishments. I appreciate the fact that every player got the opportunity to play in the state championship game. Thanks, varsity, for taking the widening the score. Thanks, JV and Freshmen, for holding the Longhorns to "0" points. That is awesome! Thanks for the entertainment and for making our entire community proud! You have put Chinook on the map. Thanks, coaches, for all you have done to bring these kids together.

Left Chinook in 1951, but have always had a soft spot for Chinook and its teams. My Dad and brothers played on Chinook teams in the thirtys, my uncle also played for Harlem in the early fortys. Go Beeters!!nyhvw

As Mealnie would say "we love you beeters." Anyone who does not think our beeters are a stand up group of young men should take the time to pay attention. I have the pleasure of teaching at the high school and am around these young men every day, my brother-in-law is also a member of the team. These guys consistently go out of their way to be role models for the younger generation. I witnessed them taking time out of their day to have a pep assembly at the elementary school and go out of their way to make it the best...they even did the homecoming "skit" after they all said "never again!!!" because the younger kids wanted to see it. Along with my family, I just want to say how proud I am of the 2010 Champs...you all deserve to have the time of your life Saturday. Win or lose you are the best to us. GO BEETERS!!! Longhorns (Beef) it's what for dinner....

From what I know about football, I think that it may be considered a contact sport that can cause a high level of emotion. Sounds like the Beeters know how to play the game. Am I right?

I'm so excited for the Beeters this weekend! When I was at CHS(Class of '98!) we never quite made it to the Championships. I'll be cheering on the Beeters and Coach Molyneaux this weekend from Lawrence, Kansas!!!
(And focus on the positive--you have a lot of wonderful people cheering for you--Go Beets!)

Cary,
Thanks for the details regarding the action last week...sounds like a very hard-fought contest played with much emotion by both sides. I appreciate some clarification as didn't see the game and only heard the rumors. I expect tomorrow's state chipper to be another big battle and may all the players remain as injury free as possible. Let's have a great game and may the better team win.

To: Mr. Schneider, E. Adult and anyone else who wants to hear the truth, I will talk about it & I hope I can satisfy your "curiousity". I video taped the PDB/Chinook game on Saturday, and have viewed the game twice since then, and here are the facts...the Beeters have played aggressive defense all season long and because of this, have be suseptible to being drawn off-sides with the Q-back barking out his hard count. This has been an obvious part of every teams (coach) game plan against Chinook this season. They try to get the Beeter front line to jump off-sides, to gain additional yardage. It had already worked twice before in this game and several times through out the game. After PDB scored their 3rd TD (making it 20-6), the QB got three Beeters to jump off-sides on the two-point conversion attempt, and only the nose tackle made contact with the QB. He stopped after contact, but the QB was knocked off balance, stutter-stepping back and falling on his backside. He got right back up, and was not injured on that play. On the following play (attempted 2-pt conv.), the QB tried to run around the right side, but was cleanly tackled around the waste by a single tackler. When he hit the ground, he landed on his shoulder, thus the injury.
There were some very ugly comments written in the Tribune, by the PDB faithful. Accusing the team of intentionally trying to hurt their players, accusing Coach Molyneaux of calling that play to intentionally hurt their QB, and and much more. If a reader was to beileve these comments, you would believe that three tacklers broke through the line and "maliciously" drove him into the ground. Because of these accusations, I viewed the game film over & over, and of course, it only proves that Chinook's nose tackle should have held-up before making contack with the QB and getting an unsportsmanlike penalty (a penalty I fully agree with).
As far as the defensive end is concerned, I also payed particular attention to his behavior. He got his first 'unsportsmanlike' along with another player for making hard contact with another player along the sidelines. Usually a judgment call, and hopfully called consistantly against both teams. He got ejected on his second 'unsportsmanlike' after celebrating a sack with about three minutes left in the game. He had done this a couple of times earlier in the game, but on each occasion, he was not directing it toward any PDB players or fans, but towards his own sideline/players/&fans. It was not an "in-your-face" taunt, but was raising his hands with his index finger pionting to the sky (indicating we're #1) while walking away from the play.
I'm sure it was extremely disappointing for the PDB fans & players to lose that game after being up by three TD's at the half. Especially getting shut-out in the second half, even after recovering a fumble on Chinook 15 yard line. But the tape don't lie. The Sugarbeeters came through in the 2nd half. They hit harder, tackled harder, ran faster and made the big plays when they needed them. And with the exception of a couple of stupid plays, which should never happen, but can happen when going all-out, full speed...played a clean game. To anyone who thinks other wise, I would be happy to show you the prof...and that's the way it happened, Oct. 13th, 2010.

Well, now you all have me curious...was it a cheap shot that hurt their first-string quarterback, thereby helping the Sugarbeeters to regain the lead and win the game? No wonder nobody wants to talk about it...good luck to your team.

First: embarrassed adukt needs to go back to take english and spelling classes.
Second: although a player did do something not so smart the whole team played a good hard hitting game and should be proud of their accomplishments.
Good luck to both teams on the championship game. May no one get hurt and all play well.

ATTENTION: 'A embarassed adult'
Are you embarassed because you can't spell or properly conjugate a sentence or proofread what you write before making a fool of yourself? Are you embarassed to be a Titan and that's why you hide your name? Are you embarassed for your referee who made a terrible call at the end of a great game? Haider has done the exact same thing in every game ALL SEASON LONG and never got a call for it. WHY NOW? Perhaps 'A embarassed parent' is that referee.
I don't think Chinook played a dirty game, IT'S FOOTBALL for cryin' out loud. The defense is supposed to sack the QB in the endzone, and everywhere else!
The Titans had a very fair chance to win. Let me remind you that we GAVE you a 20 point head start because we felt bad for you. But, you didn't come back to the game after halftime to finish what you started so we took the title home with us. Thanks again!

I agree with all the positive comments on here. Lets not let one negative person ruin it for the Beeters as they kick butt and win this weekend! Keep your negative comments to yourself please - Chinook deserves this win and has worked extremely hard to get where they are. We have enjoyed every home football game this season, and we couldn't be more proud of our hometown boys! After living away from Chinook for several years, we came home in 2003 and were received with open arms. That's what a small town like Chinook does; it embraces the members of the community whole-heartedly. We are honored to be a part of that! We continually witness greatness in Sugarbeeter student-athletes on the field, in the classroom, and on the streets of town. Thanks to all you hard-hitting, big-hearted boys for a spectacular season of football. Also, thanks for being kind, positive role models for our budding Sugarbeeter sons. And most importantly, thanks for carrying on a tradition of excellence that is the core of Chinook Schools! We will be cheering our hearts out on Saturday and for many years to come! Go Beeters!

I (unfortunately) had to work concessions during that game, but we had a great view of the field! We watched the boys play an excellent defensive game and fight to the end with PDB. We're planning to get loud and proud this weekend (hopefully taking state!) I think I say this, not only for the Freshman class, but for the entire school... WE LOVE OUR FRESHMAN!! Go Beeters :)

Dear Embarrassed Adult,
It's pretty pathetic that a person who classifies themself as an adult has to act like a juvenile. Our Beeters have worked so hard to get to where they are. The coaches have put in enumerable hours with these young men, and have done a pretty good job so far. If I didn't have to be working for the MSU Bobcat vs. UM Grizzly game I would definitely be there cheering on our boys. As for the beeter fans, just remember what was said about sticks and stones. We know who our boys are, and as a community we don't have to worry about that embarrassed adult (juvenile) they will realize that "what goes around, comes around."

Come on Havre Daily News...this was supposed to be a page for us to cheer on our Beeters...not a comment page for other teams to bash us......if you are going to pick an article to write about, and represent, than stick to the subject. If you want people to post rude, nasty comments, make a special page for them!!!!!!!!
I am proud of our boys - they work hard and possibly get a bit excited. Their coaches are amazing people and are highly respected in this community. If you don't know someone, then don't judge them. I love this town and hope the best for our boys...GO BEETERS!!!

I am so proud of the Sugarbeeters. You, young men, put in on the line for all of us EVERY WEEKEND! You provide the entertainment for us and you are certainly the "best show in the house!" We discuss football all week and live it again on the weekend! The line is great! The defense is awesome! Just stay focused and you will win on Saturday! Practice hard this week, stay mentally focused, and come out "pounding hard" on gameday.
By Class C Football Fan` on November 17th, 2010 at 07:24am
To An Embarassed Adult -- I am embarassed for you. When you can't put your name on a degrading post, that's pathetic! You are entitled to your opinions, but keep them to yourself. Didn't your mom ever teach you that if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. We, as Chinook residents, need to support our team in this Championship game. I have a son that plays on this team and gives it his all every weekend. I take exception to you classifying the "team" as being a disgrace. Also, the coaches are dealing with certain behavior in a manner that we are not privy to. Don't knock down the coaches. They have feelings to and have given alot of themselves also. I suggest you stay home on Saturday. We are going to enjoy the game without out (For all we know you are a sore loser from P-D-B.)!
By 2010 Graduate on November 17th, 2010 at 07:16am
As being a Sugarbeeter through & through you should have simpathy for the players who did not or do not get to play in the championship game. If you were on the field and in the moment you would know the feeling of excitedment and emotion that come out on the field. If anyone has ever played in a post season football game we would understand, but we do not. Not one of us "Sugarbeeters" can really know that sort of intensity reached at each and every moment of the game. If we also were a player, coach of either team to the Chinook/PDB game we would know that even the opposing PDB coach told that "disrespectful" individual that was a poor call by the ref and he should challenge it.
If we were truly a sugarbeeter we would be more supportive of each and every member on the team.
And to the embarrassed adult, Coach Molyeaux and Coach Klingamen who are the coaches with children on that team, you own an apology. If you personally knew any of their sons, you would know that they are some of the most respectful young men on and off the field.
Havre Daily news, our community is and should be so proud of these boys. This is something the whole hiline should be proud of. Throughout the hiline there is a bond so tight between all of us because many chose to stay, if it is in Chinook or not we have so much family throughout. I for one, along with many will be wearing our black and orange in support of our hometown boys, our hometown heros. They are living the dream of any child, living the dream of every father, living the dream of any athelete; playing in a state championship game.
Congratulations boys, we are so proud of you. Now go capture the title.
Much love.

Been watching this young group of boys playing football since 7 & 8 grades and they have come a long way and worked hard both in practice and throughout the year weight lifting, etc. No one's perfect and as a youth it is easy to just go with what one's feeling at the time, in other words to the embarrased adult who stated some pretty crappy comments, well i'm still behind ALL the kids as a "team" and cheering them on to see the state title, and as for the coaches-they are a couple awesome coaches who have given alot of time to our youth both on and off the field-so thanks coaches for all the mentoring and positive influences you have been, and especially to my children! Very positive role models and i'm grateful for coaches like you!

I wasn't born & raise here(I'm a WHFish Bulldog). However we made our hometown Chinook for 27yrs/raised our children here & are very PROUD they were all BEETER FOOTBALL PLAYERS. Everyone of the Chinook Football Players & Coach's should hold there heads up high. There was no poor sportsmanship on the field that day. The Ref made a bad call/the Beeter player only put hands up didn't say a word nor was there any other taunting/get your fact's straight.

Go Beeters! Congrats to these boys and coaches for such a successful season. And one in which they've worked so hard for.
ON a side note: why is it that when an athlete does something "good" or "gracious" no one ever praises his coaches for the wonderful things he's done. Yet when he does something "disgraceful" the coaches are the first and only one to blame? I'm not agreeing with the actions of this young man, but do not assume that his coaches are on the same page. I've known these men for many years and they teach nothing but sportsmanship and treating people respectfully. I know for a fact that his behavior was neither condoned nor taken lightly. He has been penalized for his actions. Coaches cannot make a person act, only teach them and guide them. The path that the young man chooses to take is of his own free will. Do not pass judgement on these coaches based on that alone.

Class "C" football!!!! Not only football, but all class "C" sports have a different feeling than any other class. Maybe it is the way a community comes together, or for one saturday afternoon the entire town shuts down, or to see all of the "future sugarbeeters" dressed in orange and black, or the Monday morning coffee talk on what "should have happened", whatever it is there is no greater feeling than to be part of a community and school that has this much "BEETER" pride. To play in a state championship game is an honor, and the Beeters deserve it. We wish the Beeters the best of luck this weekend!!!!!

I graduated with the Class of 1979 from CHS and I love Chinook and The Sugarbeeters. Back when I attended school in Chinook I think our best football season yielded a 4-4 record with us winning all the home games and losing all the road games. The bus rides on the away games weren't any fun that is for sure.
Congratulations to The Sugarbeeter Football team and to my hometown of Chinook.
If it weren't for our company having our annual inventory this Friday and Saturday, I would for sure make the 11 hour drive to Chinook for the game.
Thanks to KRYK radio for broadcasting on the web so that the Beeter fans like myself that live far away can enjoy the game. I will be cheering for the Beeters from my office in Salt Lake City, Utah. GO BEETERS! Defeat Wibaux!

The sugarbeeters played a dirty game on Saturday against Power/Dutton-Brady, they showed poor sportsmanship and I for one hope they get beat so bad they are the laughing stock of the district. Any players who taunt the crowd in the manner that they did and the more than obvious intentional personal fouls do not deserve to win. I have no respect for their coach, who by the way if the father of one of the players who was do disrespectful. To teach your kids to play with that type of sportsmanship is a grace and shows me how low they will go to win a game.

I am so proud of these young men, standing up and fighting and clawing ther way into the state championship game. Once a sugarbeeter, always a sugarbeeter.
I am presently working on the Matl power line going into Canada, But plan on skipping work saturday to be on the sidelines to root for the beeters. Tom
