The Havre Public Schools District is working on revising its mission statement and vision statement, and officials want to hear from as many people as possible.
“I’d appreciate it if everyone in the community could offer input,” Superintendent Andy Carlson said. “The more the better.”
The 11-question survey, with questions such as “What is the fundamental purpose of Havre Public Schools?” and “It is five years from now, and we have achieved our vision as a district. In what ways are we different?” is available online and in the Robins Administration Building.
Online, the survey can be found on the Havre Public Schools website under Our District > Superintendent > Mission/Vision Survey, or at the shortcut www.bit.ly/fw9CgM.
Carlson said that the Internet form is the preferred method of submission. He also advised that people who want to contribute, type their answers in a word processor and copy/paste them onto the website, as some people have had trouble with the form in the week it’s been up.
If you can’t, or prefer not to, use the website, physical forms are available at the Robins building and are as anonymous as the online form.
Carlson said the surveys will be accepted until late December, to give the district time to go over and compile them in time for their winter planning session.
The survey came out of a school board planning meeting earlier this month, where the current mission and vision statements were recognized as being more than 15 years old. Carlson presented an early version of the survey. The trustees suggested some small wording changes, and the survey was put out in the past week.
Several responses have already been turned in.
