County holds contest for Beaver Creek Park license plate

The Hill County Park Board and Hill County Commission are moving forward with an idea for a new fundraiser for Beaver Creek Park — a specialty license plate — and are holding a contest to find a design.
The Park Board, at its meeting last night, discussed the idea, proposed by board member Robbie Lucke.
Commissioner Kathy Bessette said the entry forms would be printed today and available at the commissioner's office in the Hill County Courthouse on 3rd Avenue and 4th Street.
According to a webpage at the state Department of Justice Driver Services division, specialty license plates typically return $20-$30 to the sponsor of the plate, with additional parts of the fees going to administration and production costs.
The winner of the contest will be awarded a $200 prize after the design has been approved by the state.
According to the rules provided at the meeting Monday, designs can be photographic backgrounds or stylized license plates. The design must include the words “Beaver Creek Park” and “Hill County” somewhere on the plate.
The design also must follow specifications of the Montana state government regulating specialty license plates.
The deadline for submitting designs for the plate is Jan. 31.
The Park Board will judge the designs after the submission period is over.
