After a week out of commission, the Havre City Swimming Pool will reopen Wednesday at 6:30 a.m.
The pool has been closed since New Year’s Eve, when the pool’s heater froze during the power blackout.
The new heater arrived last week and will be installed today. The city’s parks department expects everything to be ready for reopening on Wednesday.
The department is using this opportunity to offer the area more of what it apparently loves, by expanding the times for lap swimming.
The new schedule for lap swimming at the pool will be:
• 6:30 to 8 a.m., Monday to Friday;
• Noon to 1 p.m., Monday to Friday;
• 5:30 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday;
• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
The daily afternoon hours have been extended throughout the week. Prior to this change, only Thursday and Friday had afternoon lap swimming hours.
Parks Director Chris Inman said this weekend the city was changing the hours because the lap swims had become quite popular.
