Barbara was born Feb 3, 1948, in Poplar, Mont., to George and Iola (Benson) Sutherland. She was raised and educated in the Poplar area. She was the first person from her family to graduate from college. She graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont., with her bachelor's in education and taught for 20 years for Browning School District. She married Marlin Reddoor and had five children. Barbara was a giving person who didn’t like to see others go without. She often gave her last dollar to any one of her “kids” who needed it. Her love for children was seen in her students, the way all of them would always greet her with a hug and say “Ms. Reddoor! You were my best teacher.” Those seven words lit up her face every time. Barbara had a huge heart, full of love and never would let anyone go hungry, cold or unloved. She had a way of making everyone feel special. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Barbara was an excellent role model. She enjoyed watching her soaps and pro wrestling, working on puzzles, crosswords and sewing. She was a loving grandmother and mother to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Marlin Reddoor; a brother, George “Buzzy” Sutherland Jr.; and two grandsons, Michael Reddoor and Louis Sutherland Jr.
She leaves behind five children, sons, Curtis (Heidi) Reddoor of Kennewick, Wash., George (Linda) Sutherland IV of Cut Bank, Mont., Daniel Sutherland Sr. and Daniel Sutherland Jr., both of Great Falls, Mont., daughters, Brandy Reddoor, Brook (Darren Johnson) Sutherland; Mavis Reddoor and Ruby (Willie Stump) Sutherland, all of Rocky Boy, Mont.; sisters, Mavis Sedberry of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Edith (Noel) Lepine of Big Sandy, Mont.; and brother, Alvah “Duke” (Barb) Sutherland of Rocky Boy, Mont. She is also survived by her 26 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
