Carlson’s award was well-deserved
Editor:
It is personally gratifying to see Gregg Carlson awarded the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce's North Start Award. At the same time, it is bittersweet since he suffered a brain injury from his recent fall.
Yes, Gregg is a consummate agricultural professional and community benefactor, but that's not the whole story, for he also has a historical caring of the agricultural experiment station when it was Fort Assinniboine. I have had the pleasure of working with Gregg on stabilization and restoration building projects, plus working toward increasing its tourism potential and heightening it historical importance. He has done much small, but meaningful work on the old buildings that was not an ag station necessity.
I have personal and selfish reasons for wanting Gregg to have a complete and rapid recovery. First, with his soon-to-be-retirement, he could really work with the fort preservation group, finish placing the fort buildings photo registry on the Internet, and finally restore that old pickup sitting in the back corner of the post jail.
Come back soon, Gregg, as your old self. We need your expertise, enthusiasm and love of the ag station, fort site and town.
Sincerely,
Gary A. Wilson

Gary, why can't you just have the good manners to congratulate Gregg on his award and leave your selfish motives to yourself? Those of us who have lived here for a lot longer than you know just how selfish you really are! We haven't forgotten what you have done to others in the past in order to achieve what you wanted and how you use people until you get all you can out of them and then discard them when you feel they are of no more use to you.
