For fans of local music, this summer will be twice as entertaining as last summer.
Last summer, The Other Brothers band performed for the Havre-area Chamber of Commerce’s Kicks @ 6.
This summer The Other Brothers and the Chamber have gone their separate ways, creating two separate events.
“Kirt (Miller of The Other Brothers band) decided he wanted to do his own thing, ” Debbie Vandeberg, executive director of the chamber, said. “So he took Kicks @ 6 and moved it to Pepin Park. ”
Kicks @ 6 will now be at Pepin Park every Tuesday at 6 p. m.
The Chamber started its new series, Sounds On The Square, to run every Wednesday night at 6 p. m. in Town Square.
Both events promise unique experiences every week.
Kicks @ 6 has a schedule of themes for the evening for each week, starting with a Flag Day celebration this Tuesday.
Sounds on the Square will have a different local band playing every week, starting with Plowed Under this Wednesday.
“There are other local bands that would like to participate, ” Vandeberg said. “So we opened it up for other bands and got a nice long list of other local bands to perform. ”
According to Vandeberg, Sounds on the Square will also differ from the old Kicks @ Six by being two hours long.
“We encourage local folks to grab a friend, a picnic lunch and come down and enjoy some music, ” Vandeberg said.
