If you're a fan of Nascar, and even more so, if you're a fan of Carl Edwards, then you need to be at Havre Ford on Aug. 17.
Ford Motor Company and Aflac are bringing the Aflac No. 99 Ford Fusion to Havre Ford on Aug. 17 from 1-5 p. m. The show car will be available for fans to look at up close and see what a real stock car looks like, inside and out. There will also be staff from Roush Fenway Racing on hand to to answer questions and take memorable photos.
The No. 99 Ford Fusion show car is jet black, with bright green and blue accents, and is a retired version of the car driven by Edwards on the Nascar Sprint Cup Series. The car will also be equipped with a replica motor like the ones used on the track by Roush Fenway Racing teams.
"The No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion show car gives fans the chance to get up close to a real stock car, just like the ones we drive on the track each week. And it's an exact copy of the great paint scheme we sport, with the Aflac duck on board," Edwards said in a press release. "This is another way for fans to get to know Aflac as the insurance company that helps people when they need it most. The company's policyholders know that Aflac pays you cash, and fast, just like our race cars drive, especially when they're hurt or sick and can't work."
Aflac, the primary sponsor of Edwards and the No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion, is also the voluntary insurance partner of Roush Fenway Racing. Edwards finished the 2010 season fourth in the points standings.
Once again, race fans can view the Aflac No. 99 car on Wednesday, Aug. 17 from 1-5 p. m. at Havre Ford.
