Montana State University-Northern defensive end Ryan Craig has been named Frontier Conference Special Tams Player of the Week.

 

    Craig, a 6-0, 230-pound sophomore from Richland, Wash., had a critical, fourth-quarter punt block which he recovered for a touchdown in Northern's 24-17 win over UM-Western Saturday in Havre.

    Malta's Chance Demarias, a junior running back from Carroll College was named Offensive Player of the Week after he ran for 202 yards in Carroll's win over Rocky Mountain College Saturday in Billings. Eastern Oregon's Marc Avery-Airhart earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. In EOU's win at Montana Tech, he had four tackles, one sack and an interception.

    Northern's Kyle Johnston and A.J. Pasalo were also nominated for honors this week.

    Allyse Cruise of Montana Tech was named Frontier Conference volleyball player of the week. MSU-N's Hillary Isleifson was also nominated for the award.

    Cruise is a 5-foot-8 junior libero from Liberty, Saskatchewan.  Tech went 2-2 for the weekend.

    Next week, the first NAIA football poll for the regular season will be released. Fans can check the poll on Tuesday.
