The Montana State University-Northern wrestling team will open its season in less than two weeks against Western Wyoming. But the next two weeks, the Lights will be busy preparing for the upcoming year.

Northern kicks off the preseason Thursday night with the first of four duals, and the first of three intra-squad matchups. The Lights will travel to Ronan Thursday for the first Maroon/Gold Dual. Ronan is the home of a trio of Lights’ standouts in Cameron Neiss, and brothers Mickey and Toby Cheff.

MSU-N will then return home for the annual Alumni Dual, which will take place Saturday afternoon at the MSU-Northern Fieldhouse. The Alumni Dual will pit past Northern greats against current Lights, and it’s always been a spirited preseason event.

After the Alumni Dual, the Lights will hold two more intra-squad duals. MSU-N travels to Bozeman for Maroon/Gold Dual No. 2 next Tuesday, and the final Maroon-Gold Dual will be held at the MSU-Northern Fieldhouse on Oct. 20.

The Lights, under head coach Tyson Thivierge open the season Oct. 26 at home against Western Wyoming.
