The American Red Cross Blood Drive held on Nov. 7 again surpassed our goal of 110 donors.
There were 122 donors and 108 successful units drawn.
Just a note to you in high school. You can give blood at 16 now with parent or guardian consent, so you may want to consider that for the next draw. There were several multiple donor pins given out.
We thank our dependable donors and welcome all new donors. You can make an appointment by calling the Red Cross at (800) GIVE LIFE or simply walking in the door.
Our thanks to the Eagles auxiliary for the sandwiches and broth, Independence Bank for sponsoring the cookies, the Farm Credit Bureau for the cups and napkins, McDonalds for the juice and cups, St. Jude's for the wonderful facility and the Kiwanis organization for setting up and cleaning up.
Also our thanks to the high school kids who set up the signs. We wouldn't be able to hold the draw if it weren't for your dedicated help. Also thanks to the volunteer from the Campus Corp for her help at the registration table. It was greatly appreciated.
Mark Jan. 9 on your calendar for the next drive at St Jude's Hospitality Room, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wouldn't that be a wonderful way to start your new year?
