The MSU-Northern women's basketball team lost to UM-Western for the second time this season. Friday night in Dillon, the Bulldogs edged the Skylights 80-72. Northern returns to the floor Saturday night at Montana Tech.

The Northern men also suffered a setback in Dillon Friday night. The No. 24 Bulldogs beat the No. 13 Lights 89-75, creating a season split and forging a first-place tie in the Frontier Conference. The Lights are now 6-3 and 20-5 overall and have lost two straight for the first time this season. Northern plays at Montana Tech Saturday night.
