The MSU-Northern women's basketball team beat Lewis-Clark State back in January in Havre. The Skylights came close to doing it again Saturday night. But in Lewiston, Idaho, the Northern women fell just short, losing to the No. 13 Warriors 53-46 on the final night of the Frontier Conference regular season. Thanks to a Rocky Mountain College loss Saturday night, the Skylights still forged a third-place tie in the final league standings. Northern finishes the regular season at 7-7 and a remarkable 20-8 overall.
The Skylights will host either UM-Western in the first round of the playoffs Wednesday night in Havre. Northern is the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Frontier tourney.
