The MSU-Northern men's basketball team clinched its second straight Frontier regular season championship in dominating fashion Saturday night in Lewiston, Idaho. The Lights easily took down Lewis-Clark State, 80-62, ending the regular season on a four-game winning streak.
The Lights also received some more good news Saturday night. Though UM-Western beat Carroll College in Helena, and shared the regular season crown with the Lights at 10-4, Northern will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Frontier Conference playoffs via tiebreakers. That means the Lights have home-court advantage as long as they stay in the tournament, which begins Tuesday night when MSU-N (24-6) takes on Montana Tech at 7 p.m. in Havre.
