A 22-year-old Fort Belknap man died on U. S. Highway 2 Sunday night after being hit by a car, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.
The patrol’s report says three Harlem men were driving east on Highway 2, across the Milk River Bridge between Harlem and Fort Belknap, about 10:14 p. m. Sunday.
Charles Rider, the 22-year-old pedestrian in dark clothing, was crossing that bridge on the highway at the same time when he was struck.
The report says Rider died at the scene of the accident.
Despite none of the vehicle’s passengers reporting wearing a seat belt, only one reported an injury and was taken to Northern Montana Hospital.
