It turned out to be a great showing by the Montana State University-Northern women's golf team.
Tuesday at the Frontier Conference Championships in Missoula, the Skylights finished fourth overall, falling to Lewis-Clark State in the consolation match. The Warriors beat the Skylights 323-353 Tuesday at Larchmont Golf Course.
Katie Ross shot 84 and Ali Ward fired an 87 for the Skylights in the final match of the season. Stacey Sheppard shot 90 and Haley McLain shot 92. Taylor Faulkinberry finished with a 104.
The Skylights entered the tournament Monday as the No. 5 seed, and knocked off fourth-seeded Carroll College in the opening round.
Third-seeded Rocky Mountain College beat top-seeded Westminster in the 36-hole women's final, while Carroll upset top-seeded RMC in the men's final. LC State beat Westminster in the men's consolation match.
The Northern men finished fifth overall, and junior Jeremy Jensen earned Frontier All-Conference honors.
