Hot, dry conditions have been the story around the local golf scene.

When playing golf in extreme heat, remember to keep hydrated as it's easy to not drink enough fluids, and I'm not talking libations.

Ladies league seems to be the only one reporting scores and standings these days. Last Thursday night at Prairie Farms saw Schubert Agency score 26 points for high-team honors. The team was composed of Joann Normandy, Susie LaSalle, MaryAnn McLean and Kim Purkett. Tammy Boles shot a stellar 39 to earn low-gross honors, while Patty Nault was low net with a 28.5.

No scores or standings were reported from the resumption of Prairie Farms or Beaver Creek men's leagues this past week.

Youth golfers can still sign up for the upcoming Rotary Golf Camp. The camp, which will be held July 24-26 at Prairie Farms. The camp is open to golfers ages eight through seniors in high school. The cost is $25 per golfer and there are discounts for multiple family members. Tuesday and Wednesday will feature golf instruction and Thursday, a tournament will be held. To sign up, call Prairie Farms at 265-4790.

Next up on the tournament slate at Prairie Farms is the popular Rotary Blast, which will be held July 29. The tournament is a two-person, 18-hole modified stapleford scoring tourney. Teams can sign up at the Prairie Farms Pro Shop.
